MoAZ dump trucks. No competitors?

Heavy domestic equipment is of particular interest to our viewers and readers. The video department of av.by has already visited such factories as MTZ and MAZ , and today we went to Mogilev to highlight the activities of the branch of JSC "BELAZ" - the Mogilev Automobile Plant named after S. M. Kirov. The specialists of the enterprise will show us where BelAZ trucks start and tell us directly about the dump trucks that are fully manufactured here, at the facilities of MoAZ.

We begin our excursion from the most spectacular and spectacular workshop - the steel foundry. Places where "BELAZ" begins. We caught the process of starting a steel-smelting arc furnace. Depending on what grade of steel needs to be poured, the specialist adjusts the chemical composition to the required one according to the assignment. Before the molds are poured, a sample is taken - a small steel ingot, which is sent to the laboratory in order to confirm the correctness of the chemical composition. This process takes only 3 minutes. 

— Intensive process! Any delay is very costly in this shop. A minute of downtime means hundreds of kilowatts of wasted electricity,” says Alexander, head of the steel shop. - The main supplier of materials for my division is the parent company. Everything that is called metal waste in Zhodino is raw material for smelting for me!

MoAZ at its facilities produces one of the most popular dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 25 tons. Modification 7505 has been sold more than 1,750 times, and there seems to be no competitors, because the product is, in fact, unique. We asked the head of the design bureau, Yegor Alekseevich Matsukov, if they had a question about import substitution:

- In this case, you need to replace yourself. For example, there is a car that has proven itself well. Let's say 75054. But to be honest, this is a development of the mid-1980s. And, accordingly, there are details that are already obsolete. Further modernization is required.
